The site is being redeveloped by Commerical Properties for the Baton Rouge Area Foundation.

“This is a Louisiana tradition. We’re grateful to be here in Baton Rouge,” said owner Melvin Rodrigue during a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

Galatoire’s Bistro on Perkins Road is the second Baton Rouge location to open, though the first closed in 2011.

“The new ownership group thought this would be a better location,” Rodrigue said.

The New Orleans tradition returns to Baton Rouge, moving to a more central location and closer to the business district and LSU university.  Galatoire’s Bistro will serve dinner nightly at 5:30 p.m. with the bar opening at 3:30 p.m. Daily lunch and weekend brunch service will begin Friday, Jan. 25, at 11 a.m. Galatoire’s Bistro is accepting reservations for lunch and dinner now.
