Well it’s that time of year again. The Pennington Balloon Championship is in full swing in Baton Rouge and Southdowns residents (a neighborhood in Baton Rouge, LA) should grab their coffee, head outside with their cameras and look overhead. This event comes to YOU!!!
These few summer mornings, you’ll want to endure the warm temperatures as uncountable balloons fly over Southdowns boasting every color imaginable.
The festival begins today August 5th and ends the morning of August 7th at Pennington Biomedical on Perkins Road, next to Kenilworth subdivision. With two full days of events you are guaranteed a great FREE time. The schedule includes the balloon competition itself, mass balloon ascension, balloon glow, parachute team displays and fireworks. There is even a children’s village for the young ones.
